Get Fit Day 2017
Posted on 05/22/2017
On Wednesday, March 17, 2017, HSHM students participated in our annual Get Fit Day. This day was filled with activities and workshops all related to fitness and all around mind and body wellness. Our ninth and tenth grade students got the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities ranging from yoga to boxing. This year in particular we had student lead dance workshops and a cooperative relay workshop. Mr. Corkill led a boxing class that focused on developing basic skills. Ms. Funaro and Ms. Bordiuk facilitated a Midnfulness/Yoga activity. The FDNY came in and taught fifty students how to perform CPR and how to use and AED. There was also a video on the importance of good nutrition and exercise as well as a Sports Trivia Competition that had students test their knowledge about different sports and famous athletes. It was a wonderful day for all our students and the faculty involved!
