On this day students participate in various activities as well as team building exercises that allow them to “get real”.  This year’s Get Real Day featured a senior panel which spoke about what to expect as senior year draws closer, the NJROTC speaking about the impact this program has on developing youth, a guest speaker which covered issues on substance abuse and recovery, a “boys only” and ‘girls only” talk spearheaded by Mr. Mchale and Ms. Clay and a body language and perception workshop. This day is all about getting real about social and emotional issues and ensuring that the students realize how important it is to have these conversations. They get to learn about real issues that take place all around them and build a sense of consciousness for each other. Enthusiastically, Mr Mompoint shared that “Ms. Roedl and her team have been instrumental in ensuring student voice. As a result, the experiences students participate in are relevant and meaningful”.
